EMFACE: Am I A Good Candidate For A Needle-Free Facelift

While invasive options like a surgical facelift may achieve some patient’s desired results, your personal skin concerns may benefit from a non-invasive approach, such as the needle-free EMFACE.

In this blog, we’ll explain how EMFACE works and what makes a suitable candidate for the procedure. Ultimately, your suitability for any skin treatment will be determined during an in-person consultation, so we’ll give you some tips on preparing for your skin assessment.

What is EMFACE, and how does it work?

EMFACE is designed to significantly reduce wrinkles, produce a lifting effect, and enhance muscle tone. It uses synchronised RF (Radiofrequency) and HIFES energies to diminish wrinkles and firm the skin.

The non-invasive, needle-free treatment can effectively target the skin and underlying muscles for the best results within a 20-minute session for the entire face.

Synchronised RF can induce a remodelling and smoothening effect on the skin by generating heat in the dermis, prompting enhanced collagen and elastin production. Simultaneously, HIFES contracts the facial muscles, which can improve their structure by enhancing density and quality.

What a typical treatment session looks like

Following a comprehensive consultation to discuss your desired outcomes, one of our skilled practitioners will carefully position the EMFACE applicators in the appropriate facial areas. These applicators, resembling flat pads, will remain on your face, ensuring a hands-free operation without requiring invasive measures or needles.

The applicators will deliver synchronised RF (Radiofrequency) and HIFES energies during the treatment. The RF energy will elevate the temperature of the dermal tissues, triggering the stimulation of collagen and elastin fibres. At the same time, the HIFES will emit numerous pulses to contract the facial muscles, leading to gradual strengthening and tightening. Each treatment session typically lasts approximately 20 minutes, and for optimal results, a recommended course of three to four sessions may be advised.

Here’s what makes a suitable candidate for EMFACE

EMFACE may be a great treatment option for those experiencing signs of facial ageing, such as fine lines, wrinkles and skin laxity.

However, during a consultation, we’ll be looking for candidates with realistic expectations for the results of their treatment and who are willing to follow aftercare instructions that will be vital to the treatment outcome. If necessary, candidates should also be willing to undergo multiple treatments to achieve the desired results.

If you have previously undergone treatment with cosmetic injectables, EMFACE may be suitable for you if it is determined that it will not interfere with these treatments.

Unfortunately, there are some contraindications to the treatment. If you have facial implants or metal plates, we’ll be unable to perform the procedure. Active skin infections, open wounds and severe acne can also mean the treatment is not your best option.

Why being a suitable candidate is important

In an ideal world, all treatments would be an option for every candidate. However, the reason that many treatments have contraindications is ultimately to protect the patient.

Skin treatments should only be performed if they will address the patient’s personal skin concerns with the least associated risks possible. Not only does this prevent complications that may need additional treatments to address, but it also ensures that patients get the best results according to their needs.

Preparing for your consultation

Before your EMFACE consultation, we recommend further researching the treatment, viewing before and after photos and familiarising yourself with the realistic outcomes to decide if you are choosing the proper treatment to address your concerns.

Then, it would be best if you were prepared to be asked some questions about the health of your skin, including any skin conditions you currently have or may have had. You may also be asked about any medications you are presently taking.

During your consultation, you should be transparent about your concerns and how you would like your results to look. Ask any questions about the treatment, including what to expect afterwards, what the treatment will feel like, your personalised treatment steps and how best to prepare.
