TheSKIN BOOSTER TREATMENT

Skin Boosters are made from an ingredient which is a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in our bodies.

As we age, the production of HA in our bodies generally decreases, which may make our skin appear dry and dull. The Skin Booster treatment aims to stimulate collagen production, cell renewal and promote hydration. Skin boosters are injected under the skin to help absorb and retain moisture to the area. Skin boosters also include nutrients and antioxidants for added benefits which may help in the protection against free radicals, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles as well as assist in brightening your complexion.

The PROCEDURE

Our injectors will perform a full assessment of your skin to prescribe a personalised treatment plan to achieve optimal results. An anaesthetic cream will be applied to your treatment area about 45 minutes prior to the procedure to ensure comfort. The Skin Booster is administered through micro needles into the top layers of the skin. The injecting takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. At Inigo Cosmetic, we use the V2 injector, a TGA approved injecting devices. It includes five to nine micro-needles that inject the skin at once. It also allows for uniform depths and spacing of injections. After injecting, a recovery healing mask is applied and massaged in with cool globes. A serum is then applied to complement the results of the skin booster treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

With any cosmetic injectable, comes risks. You can expect to be slightly red, swollen, bumpy and bruised in the treatment area, which may be temporary and subside within a week or two. With HA fillers, there is also a risk of vascular occlusion, which is where the filler occludes a vessel. This causes a blockage of blood flow to a certain area. If this happens, we will dissolve the filler as soon as possible in the clinic and ensure your tissue is still healthy.

We recommend a course of three treatments performed three to four weeks apart. After your initial course of treatments, we recommend one to three additional sessions per year for maintenance.

If you are concerned with fine lines, dehydration, acne scarring and ageing, skin boosters may be the ideal treatment for you. Most people are suitable candidates for skin boosters, if you have realistic expectations of what the treatment can achieve

Skin boosters can be used on the face, neck, décolletage and hands to help restore skin hydration and to treat the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dehydration and acne scarring.

Skin boosters can be uncomfortable, the feeling is described as a small vacuum suction with a prickling sensation, however prior to your treatment a topical anaesthetic is applied to help with any discomfort.

Dermal fillers are injected deeper to help restore and add volume whereas skin boosters are injected superficially into the skin with the aim of improving hydration, overall skin quality as well as a treatment for acne scarring and signs of ageing.
