Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is an advanced, non-surgical technology designed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin texture. Performed using either the Vivace or Morpheus8 machines, this procedure uses a combination of heat, light and needling to rebuild your body’s natural collagen. This results in skin tightening, body tightening, stretch mark removal and scar reduction.

What can RF Microneedling treat?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin laxity
  • Skin tone and texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Scarring
  • Stretch marks

How does RF Microneedling work?

Multiple sterile micro-needles simultaneously penetrate the skin, where they generate and transmit radiofrequency energy through several layers of the dermis. The skin receives the controlled physical injury of typical microneedling devices, plus the added benefit of heat from radiofrequency energy. This dual effect on multiple dermal layers causes dramatic skin tightening and collagen production.

RF microneedling can be used on most skin types and colours and almost any area of the face or body.

The Vivace system offers a threefold approach to skin rejuvenation: microneedling, radiofrequency energy, and blue and red LED light.

Microneedling, or Collagen Induction Therapy, is a well-known treatment in the aesthetic industry. It works by producing a wound-healing response in the skin via controlled punctures that stimulate collagen production. The Vivace device applies sterile, superfine, gold-tipped micro-needles to the skin, creating invisible channels that penetrate through multiple layers of skin and deep into the dermis. These channels remain open for four to six hours, during which time the body creates new collagen as a healing mechanism.

Radiofrequency (RF) Energy

Radiofrequency (RF) is one of the most innovative treatments for chronic wound healing and skin regeneration. Vivace delivers RF via insulated micro-needles. The electrodes within the micro-needles deliver thermal energy generated by an oscillating electrical current deep into the skin’s dermis. RF energy has a lower frequency than lasers, allowing it to safely penetrate through the deeper layers of the skin. The heat induces the production of new collagen and elastin and encourages cell turnover.

Red and Blue LED Light

Red and blue light-emitting diodes have been clinically documented to offer significant benefits for the skin. Red light assists in renewed collagen production and improves skin tone and texture. Blue light acts as an antibacterial agent and reduces acne.

What to expect

Once your skin is cleansed, a topical local anaesthetic numbing agent is applied to ensure comfort. The applicator is then placed on the skin, and the 36 insulated gold-tipped micro-needles are driven by a robotic micro-motor at a pulse and depth determined by the practitioner – all while providing RF energy and LED light activation deep within the skin.
After the treatment has been completed, the micro-needling channels result in fast absorption of any key serums or creams that you may apply to encourage faster healing.

Your skin may appear a little red after treatment, similar to a mild sunburn that will resolve over the next few hours.

A treatment with Vivace will take around 30 to 45 minutes to complete.

Recommended treatment protocol

Although results will be visible after your first treatment, most patients will achieve optimal results from three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart.

With the use of a topical anaesthetic agent, the Vivace treatment is virtually pain-free!

Yes. Vivace induces natural skin resurfacing without using heat or harsh chemicals or removing skin layers – safe for darker skin types.

If possible, wait until the following day before you apply makeup. If you absolutely have to wear makeup please wait at least six hours before applying. Make sure you use a clean makeup brush, and a mineral based foundation.

Everyone is different, but the collagen and elastin you make is your own and continues accelerated production over the next six months as results improve over time.

Follow the recommended aftercare. Typically, no excessive sun exposure for two weeks after treatment. Use a daily SPF. Avoid physical activity for 48 hours. Use good quality skin care products to prolong the effects of your treatment.

At Inigo Cosmetic, we customise our treatments to each individual patient. Depending on the quality of your skin, you may require more or less RF microneedling treatments. To receive a detailed cost breakdown, please get in touch to book a consultation at Inigo Cosmetic.
