EXION RF ULTRASOUND BODY INFORMATION
Find out about Exion RF Ultrasound treatments at Inigo Cosmetic in Brisbane.
Combining radio-frequency (RF) and ultrasound energy, the Exion Body Applicator is designed to address localised fat deposits and skin laxity.
The adipose tissue is directly heated in hard-to-reach areas. Active skin cooling is available when treating deeper layers to protect the skin, allowing for increased temperature within the deeper subcutaneous layer. Adipose cells can be broken down and naturally eliminated by the body over time when heated.
Collagen and elastin help our skin to stay firm. Both of these proteins naturally slow down in production as we age. Similarly, hyaluronic acid is naturally found in our skin, responsible for keeping our skin hydrated. The production of hyaluronic acid can also slow down as we age, causing dry skin and laxity. The patented monopolar radio-frequency (RF) combined with ultrasound energy heats the skin in the desired areas, triggering the body’s natural healing response to produce more collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.
The device has a large applicator for efficient use on a variety of areas of the body.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Risks & complications
Exion RF Ultrasound Body carries potential side effects and risks.
Here are some common side effects and risks associated with Exion RF Ultrasound Body:
- Temporary redness and swelling are common immediately after treatment, usually subsiding within hours to a day. Mild discomfort, warmth, or tingling during the session is manageable and shouldn’t cause significant pain. Bruising might occur due to device contact with the skin, but it typically resolves independently. Some skin sensitivity and minor texture changes like temporary roughness or bumps can occur but usually fade over time.
- Although uncommon, there’s a slight risk of burns or blisters if the treatment isn’t performed correctly or with improper settings. Hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, resulting in temporary darker or lighter patches, can occur but tend to fade gradually. Before undergoing treatment with Exion Body, one of our clinicians will inform you of the associated risks and side effects and how to minimise and prevent them.
Contraindications
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Individuals with an electronic implant, such as a glucose monitor, pacemaker or defibrillator, or a permanent implant in the treatment area
- Cancer or history of cancer
- Patients with a history of seizures or epilepsy
Recovery
You can resume normal activities following Exion RF Ultrasound body treatments, however we recommend avoiding heat inducing activities for the first 24 hours after your treatments, which may include saunas, spas and hot yoga or pilates. It is important to follow the pre & post-treatment care instructions provided by your treating practitioner and attend any follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and address any concerns.
Risks, complications, and recovery can be found here.

Results can vary from person to person, but some individuals might start noticing subtle changes shortly after their first session. These initial changes are often related to immediate effects like temporary swelling and increased circulation.
However, the most significant and noticeable results become apparent gradually over a few weeks to a few months following the treatment. This is because the treatment triggers the production of new collagen and elastin fibres, which take time to develop and contribute to improved skin elasticity and the visible reduction of adipose tissue. During this period, you may also observe a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and altered skin texture.
Suitable Exion Body candidates are those with mild to moderate fat deposits and skin laxity. Candidates should be in good health and have realistic expectations. The treatments can suit those seeking non-surgical options with minimal downtime and discomfort.
Contraindications can include recent surgery in the desired treatment area, certain skin conditions, underlying medical conditions, allergies or sensitivities to treatment components, active implants or devices in the treatment area, and those with highly sensitive skin.
A thorough consultation at our Brisbane clinic will help to determine whether the treatment is appropriate for your specific needs and goals.
