What Is Lumecca IPL Scar Revision?
Lumecca IPL is one of the scar revision treatments offered at Inigo Cosmetic in Brisbane. Lumecca utilises Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to target the melanin and hemoglobin within scars. During the treatment process, the device emits high-intensity light pulses that penetrate the skin, aiming to address the pigmented and vascular areas of the scar.
For pigmented scars, such as those that appear pink or brown, the light energy is designed to be absorbed by the melanin with the aim of breaking down pigment. This process may lighten the colour of the scar and address its visibility.
For vascular scars, the light energy targets the hemoglobin in the blood vessels within the scar tissue, causing coagulation and subsequent closure of the blood vessels. This action aims to reduce redness and inflammation in the scar.
