BOOK A HYDRAFACIAL

What Is Hydrafacial?

HydraFacial is a non-invasive, medical grade hydra dermabrasion treatment, that uses vortex technology to carry out a three-part method of cleansing, extracting, and hydrating the skin. This method aims to leave you with deeply-cleansed, nourished, and hydrated skin after your treatment at our Brisbane clinic.

To enhance your Hydrafacial treatment we offer a selection of boosters that allow customisation of the treatment to focus on your priority areas. Gentler than traditional microdermabrasion and targeted towards optimising skin health, HydraFacial may be beneficial for a multitude of skin types.

HYDRAFACIAL INFORMATION

Find out about Hydrafacial treatments at Inigo Cosmetic in Brisbane.

HydraFacial is a medical grade hydra dermabrasion device, that uses vortex technology to carry out a patented three-part regimen: cleansing, extracting, and then infusing the skin with intensive serums with the aim of moisturising, brightening, clearing and protecting.

The treatment involves several steps:

  • Cleansing and exfoliation: The HydraFacial device uses a gentle vacuum suction to help remove dead skin cells and debris from the skin’s surface, revealing a fresh layer of skin underneath.
  • Acid peel: A blend of gentle exfoliating acids, such as glycolic and salicylic acid, is applied to the skin to further remove impurities and unclog pores.
  • Extraction: The HydraFacial device uses a unique, gentle vortex suction technology to extract blackheads, dirt, and oil from the pores without causing discomfort.
  • Hydration: Antioxidant-rich serums containing hyaluronic acid, peptides, and other nourishing ingredients are infused into the skin to help hydrate, and protect the skin from environmental damage.
  • Protection: Finally, a custom blend of serums, moisturisers and sunscreen specifically chosen for your skin are applied to the skin to lock in moisture and protect it from harmful UV rays.

Overall, HydraFacial aims to work by delivering a comprehensive and customisable treatment that may address various skin conditions, with the aim of leaving the skin looking refreshed, radiant, and hydrated.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

At Inigo Cosmetic, we are dedicated to providing effective treatments that prioritise relaxation and comfort in a luxurious setting. Upon arrival, our welcoming reception staff will greet you with collagen water as you complete any necessary paperwork. Your journey continues with a consultation led by our experienced dermal therapist or registered nurse, who will guide you through 2D & 3D imaging, discuss your concerns and take you through a thorough consultation.

Your Hydrafacial will begin with our Inigo signature double cleanse, followed by your chosen HydraFacial treatment and finished off with a custom blend of serums, moisturisers and SPF creme specifically tailored to your and your skin concerns.

After your HydraFacial you will be provided a post-care pack containing your personalised treatment plan, post-care instructions, and a schedule of your following appointments. At Inigo Cosmetic, your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities throughout your Hydrafacial journey.

The skin will be cleansed and then exfoliated with a mix of salicylic and glycolic acids, which aim to break down any dirt and oil that may be clogging the pores.

The handpiece will then vacuum out congestion, dirt, oil, and impurities, while simultaneously applying hydrating, and nourishing serums.

Treatments are customised, allowing you the option to add booster ingredients to focus on key areas. The procedure will take from 30-to-60 minutes, depending on the condition being treated.

HydraFacial aims to have you leave our Brisbane clinic looking and feeling refreshed. Long-term results are generally noticeable 1-2 days following the first treatment. Thee recommended treatment protocol is monthly treatments to maintain results.

Factors such as home-care products, sunscreen use, smoking, water intake, stress, or illness may affect results and the frequency of treatments required. Your dermal therapist will guide you towards the best regime for your skin, both in-clinic and at home, ensuring you gain the most benefit from each treatment.

HydraFacial aims to delivers instant results, so you can feel the effects of the treatment as soon as you leave our clinic. The vortex technology is exclusive to HydraFacial. Other characteristics include:

  • Customised treatments
  • Nourishing ingredients, like hyaluronic acid and antioxidants
  • Non-abrasive and gentle procedure
  • Little-to-no downtime post-treatment
  • Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin

HydraFacial is also called hydra dermabrasion, as, like microdermabrasion, both treatments exfoliate the skin. However, HydraFacial treatment is far less abrasive, as microdermabrasion uses tools to scrub off the outer layers of the skin.

HydraFacial treatment is more gentle, as it uses water and botanical ingredients to exfoliate, cleanse, and hydrate the skin.

HydraFacial is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, thanks to its gentler nature.

Risk & complications include: Temporary skin irritation, tightness, redness or slight swelling. This usually resolves within 72 hours, depending on skin sensitivity, discomfort, redness and swelling, itching or irritation, skin peeling or flaking – up to around 14 days after the procedure, hyperpigmentation and acne breakouts, reaction to products rarely occur, but can include an immediate reaction of swelling and, very rarely, life-threatening anaphylaxis

Recovery time is generally minimal or non-existent, as side effects such as redness or a slight feeling of tightness are minor and should only persist for about an hour after treatment. After the procedure, you can wash your skin with tepid water and a gentle cleanser.

You might feel some minor discomfort, itching or irritation and may notice slight swelling, peeling, or flaking; these symptoms should subside within around 14 days after treatment. Depending on the products applied, your skin might feel warm or flushed, so ensure that you avoid strenuous exercise and heat, including saunas and hot showers, for 24 hours. Do not scrub, exfoliate, or aggressively massage the treatment area for three days after treatment, and do not use products that contain AHA’s, Vitamin A products, scrubs, or enzymes for five days after treatment. Ensure that you don’t receive any peel, IPL, laser, or facial treatments that are not prescribed by Inigo Cosmetic clinic, for two weeks after you receive HydraFacial.

Additional ways that you may help support your skin after HydraFacial treatment are to stay hydrated with two-to-three litres of water a day and avoid scratching, picking, or peeling your skin.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please book in for a consultation today at Inigo Cosmetic Brisbane.

The recommended treatment protocol for HydraFacial at Inigo Inigo Cosmetic Brisbane clinic is one per month.

Your individual needs and desired results will determine how often you may to get a HydraFacial. During your consultation, your treatment needs will be assessed, so that they can be tailored to your goals.

The deep exfoliation is designed to allow your skin to better absorb the nourishing serums, making the treatment more effective than applying the serums alone. The treatment can help overall skin texture, tone and appearance, and aims to address fine-lines and pores. The combination of cleansing, exfoliating, extracting and hydrating the skin with vortex technology is what makes this treatment unique.

  • Attend your appointment with no makeup, lotions, or SPF creme
  • Two weeks prior: avoid excess sun exposure
  • Three days prior: no exfoliation, waxing, or hair removal in the treatment area
  • Three days prior: if prone to cold sores, take prophylactic medication
  • Two days prior: avoid alcohol and stay hydrated
  • Six months prior: no Roaccutane therapy

Your skin may appear red and feel flushed or hot, depending on the skin condition and products applied.

  • Wash skin with tepid water and a gentle cleanser
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and heat (saunas, hot showers), for 24 hours
  • Do not scrub, exfoliate, or aggressively massage the treatment area for three days
  • No products containing AHA’s, Vitamin A products, scrubs, or enzymes for five days
  • No peels, IPL, laser, or facial treatments not prescribed by the clinic, for two weeks
  • Don’t pick, scratch, or peel the skin
  • Eat a healthy diet and hydrate with two-to-three litres of water.

Generally, HydraFacial is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, as it is a gentle and non-abrasive treatment. Like with many skin treatments, there may be some exceptions – if you have an active skin infection, sunburn, or rosacea, you will need to consult with our clinic to determine if HydraFacial treatment is right for you.
