- A personal history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- Recent excessive sun exposure or fake tan
- Recent chemical peels, laser treatments or skin resurfacing procedures (within the timeframe advised by your clinician)
- Uncontrolled diabetes or other endocrine disorders that may impair healing
- Autoimmune or immunosuppressive conditions, or medications that suppress the immune system
- Bleeding disorders or use of anticoagulant medications where treatment may not be appropriate
- Epilepsy triggered by flashing lights
- Uncontrolled heart disease or hypertension
- Significant liver or kidney disease
- Connective tissue disorders affecting wound healing
