How to address Acne & Acne Scarring?
At Inigo Cosmetic, we offer consultations where you can discuss concerns relating to active acne, comedonal acne, fungal acne, post-inflammatory pigmentation, and acne scarring with a qualified practitioner. Depending on your skin concerns, treatment goals, and suitability, your practitioner may discuss treatment options designed to target breakouts, reduce inflammation, improve skin texture, scarring and support skin healing and renewal.
Acne and acne scarring can develop due to a range of factors, including excess oil production, inflammation, blocked pores, bacterial activity, and disrupted collagen formation during the skin’s healing process. Over time, ongoing inflammation may lead to textural irregularities, uneven skin tone, and permanent scarring.
We have introduced an acne consult & treatment package which gives you 10% off your products & a free acne facial. Our acne skin consultation may be suitable for those wishing to manage active acne, reduce the appearance of acne scars, refine skin texture, or improve overall skin clarity. Your practitioner may recommend treatments to be performed on their own or in combination with other procedures such as facials, skin needling or chemical peels.

In-clinic treatments may include Hydrafacials, iS Clinical facials, Rationale facials, and O Cosmedics peels to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and rebalance the skin. For those concerned with acne scarring and textural irregularities, advanced treatments such as Dermapen microneedling and RF microneedling may be incorporated to stimulate collagen production and support skin regeneration.
What is Acne?
Acne is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil (sebum), dead skin cells, and sometimes bacteria. This can lead to whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, or cystic lesions. Acne most often appears on the face, chest, and back, but it can affect other areas of the body as well.
Acne develops due to several key factors:
Excess oil production – Hormonal changes, stress, or genetics can increase sebum.
Clogged pores – Dead skin cells can block hair follicles.
Bacterial activity – Cutibacterium acnes bacteria can trigger inflammation.
Inflammation – Causes redness, swelling, and sometimes scarring.
Acne can be mild, moderate, or severe, and if untreated, it can lead to permanent scarring or pigmentation changes.
How Can You Treat Acne?
Acne treatment usually combines internal care, topical skincare, and professional treatments:
1. Internal/Health Support
Hormonal balance, diet, and targeted supplements can help reduce breakouts from within.
Supporting liver and gut health may also improve skin clarity.
2. Skincare at Home
Use gentle cleansers to remove excess oil and dirt.
Incorporate products with active ingredients like salicylic acid, niacinamide, or retinoids to prevent clogged pores and inflammation.
Moisturise and use sunscreen daily, even for oily skin.
3. Professional Treatments
Facials: Hydrafacials, iS Clinical facials, Rationale facials to cleanse, exfoliate, and rebalance skin.
Peels: O Cosmedics peels or similar chemical treatments to remove dead skin and improve texture.
Microneedling: Dermapen or RF microneedling to treat acne scars and stimulate collagen production.
Other therapies: Lymphatic support such as Prin Lymphatic Enzyme can reduce inflammation and improve circulation.
4. Combination Approach
The most effective acne management often combines skincare, in-clinic treatments, and internal support tailored to your skin type, severity, and underlying triggers.
Of course, we offer skin consultation which are $75 and redeemable on treatment or product on the same day.
