What is a Thread Lift?
A thread lift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to lift and reposition facial tissue through the use of threads. During treatment, dissolvable threads are inserted into target areas of the face, which works to restore volume, skin quality and texture. In response, the skin produces new collagen and elastin, allowing for long-lasting results, even once the original thread has dissolved.
A thread lift at Inigo Cosmetic can target many areas of the face, such as:
- Sagging jawline
- Drooping cheeks
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Forehead wrinkles
- Sagging brows
- Nose Thread Lift
Following a thread lift, you will notice an immediate lift to the skin. As the skin heals, collagen will begin to form in the treated area, which only works to enhance results.
Over time, the threads are absorbed by the body. However, thanks to new collagen growth, the effects of a thread lift will last for at least 18 months. In fact, many patients find that their results last for as long as three years! After this time, you may require further cosmetic intervention to maintain results.
What to expect
Prior to your thread lift, your cosmetic nurse will administer several small injections of local anaesthetic in order to numb the treated area and ensure your comfort. Using a fine needle, the threads are then inserted under the skin. Once they are situated, your cosmetic nurse will gently pull the threads until the desired lift is achieved. The ends of the threads are then trimmed, leaving no evidence of their placement.
You can expect your thread lift procedure to take around an hour to complete, depending on the area treated and the number of threads required.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Typically, a candidate for a thread lift is someone between the ages of 35 and 55 who wants to lift and tighten the skin. The best way to determine whether this treatment is right for you is to have a consultation at Inigo Cosmetic.
As a minimally invasive treatment, a thread lift requires little downtime. While you may experience some visible swelling and bruising, you can return to your regular activities immediately after treatment. You can cover any bruising and redness that you may have with makeup.
