EmbraceRF Consent

HOW DOES IT WORK?

EmbraceRF is a technology optimised for subdermal adipose remodelling of the face, neck, and body.

EmbraceRF utilises RFAL (Radio-Frequency Assisted Lipolysis) energy to heat the tissues directly beneath the skin, which liquefy fat cells and stimulates tissue contraction and collagen production creating a smooth, lifted, and sculpted appearance. Different parts of the workstation are designed to treat different areas.

  • Around the eyes
  • Cheeks or jowls

  • Neck
  • Abdomen

  • Thighs
  • Knees

RESULTS

Results can be seen immediately, with best results noticeable after about 6 months, and will continue to improve for up to 12 months after the procedure. Results usually last between 5 – 10 years depending

on genetics and lifestyle factors such as diet, sun exposure, smoking status, and overall skin health. If required, patients can have a ‘top-up’ procedure after 5 years.

ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS

UNSUITABLE PATIENTS

  • Patients with excess skin laxity in treatment area
  • Active skin issue in the treatment area, including cold sores, sunburn, eczema, psoriasis, cancer

RISKS & SIDE EFFECTS

  • Temporary unwanted visual side effects may cause dissatisfaction or distress, and include an increase in asymmetry, swelling, lumps, bumps, puffiness, or surface irregularities.
  • Bleeding, bruising, haematoma, damage to nerves, or burns to underlying structures may occur. In rare cases this could cause continuous problems in appearance, sensation or function and may require medical intervention to treat or may be permanent.
  • The formation of nodules (lumps) or granulomas (a collection of inflamed cells) which may require removal or other treatment.
  • Bacterial, viral or fungal infections can occur post procedure. Treatment around the lip area may trigger recurrence of cold sores which may require treatment.
  • Immediate reaction to local anaesthetic may result in swelling or anaphylaxis. Delayed reactions localised to the skin can cause nodules, lumps or bumps, or very rarely sterile abscesses.
  • Infection, pain, bleeding, bruising, haematoma, damage to nerves. In rare cases this could cause continuous problems in appearance, sensation or function and may require medical intervention to treat or may be permanent.
  • The precise degree of improvement cannot be guaranteed. The outcome’s subjective nature also means dissatisfaction is a possible outcome regardless of effectiveness of treatment.
  • Results may be temporary; additional or alternative cosmetic treatments may be needed for optimal results and further expenditure will be required.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic in the clinic.

A tiny incision is made in the treatment area and a very thin cannula is inserted under the skin.

The cannula is moved back and forth across the treatment area while emitting radio-frequency energy and generating heat to specific temperature.

After the procedure, the excess fluid (anaesthetic liquid and any liquified fat) is removed via manual liposuction to aid comfort and a faster recovery.

The treatment takes less than 45 minutes to complete and patients are able to return home after the procedure.
