Renuvion is ideal for those experiencing loose skin following pregnancy or extensive weight loss. It offers an alternative to more invasive cosmetic surgical procedures and is ideal for patients who don’t want or are not candidates for typical excision surgery. For example, Renuvion can be used to perform a minimally invasive face or neck lift as well as a minimally invasive tummy tuck. Depending on the area and condition treated, Renuvion can be performed under a local anaesthetic, which means a faster recovery and less downtime.
Areas of the body Renuvion can treat
- Neck
- Torso

- Behind the knees
- Underarms
Renuvion may be combined with Vaser Liposuction to prevent the formation of loose skin.

What makes Renuvion skin tightening different?
During the treatment, the effects of tightening and toning are visible in real-time. This allows for precision sculpting and a more desirable outcome.
Renuvion is a revolutionary technology. It is the only medical device that uses helium and RF waves to create a stream of plasma energy. Pain and discomfort are, therefore, minimal due to the cooling effects of the helium gas. Renuvion also delivers immediate visible results. Usually, only one treatment is required, with no need for multiple appointments.
How does Renuvion skin tightening work?
Helium gas and radiofrequency energy are emitted simultaneously through a long, thin metal cannula just below the skin’s surface. This causes the helium to ionise and generate plasma – a hot, ionised gas composed of electrically charged particles.
As the surge of plasma energy delivered is targeted and precise, there is minimal damage to the surrounding tissue. If Renuvion is used as an adjunct treatment, the cannula can be inserted through existing incisions. However, if performed as a stand-alone treatment, the incisions are small, less than two cm, and strategically placed to avoid scarring.
The cannula is moved back and forth across the treatment area. The combination of heat with ionic and reactive particles from the plasma cloud induces a change in the skin’s dermis and underlying architecture. This results in the rejuvenation and contraction of existing skin while stimulating new collagen production. Results are visible immediately and continue to improve for up to 12 months.
Recovery from Renuvion skin tightening
Recovery varies from patient to patient. Most patients describe the pain as mild discomfort that is usually well controlled with over-the-counter pain medication.
Most patients can return to work or their normal daily activities after three days. There is no extra recovery time when Renuvion is combined with Vaser Liposuction in the same procedure.
You may experience swelling and tenderness after your procedure and may be required to wear a compression garment for up to six weeks. Major swelling usually subsides by three months, and the final result will be noticeable after six to twelve months.
